The #FollowFriday Series highlights today’s up-and-coming, active and all-around noteworthy Twitter accounts the AudioAcrobat staff deems worthy of following; while at the same time peering deeper into the soul(-cial media) of each account and providing a brief-yet-informative analysis.
Welcome back for the twenty fourth #FollowFriday tweet / WordPress mashup of 2012 here on the AudioAcrobat Weblog!
When TechCrunch updates iOS 6 details sourced from another publication, you know we’re interested. Who was that news source you ask? This week’s featured #FF account, of course!
In today’s post, we will dive deeper into the tweets of UK-based gadget news and reviews site, Pocket-lint (@Pocketlint) and the Twitter accounts they have chosen to follow … a mirror, if you will, into the soul(-cial media) behind the largest independent gadget news and reviews site in the UK.
Yep. That’s right, we just said it … “soulcial media”. We also said, “the largest independent gadget news and reviews site in the UK” in the same sentence.

More about Pocket-lint
I created the site in 2003 to offer web surfers the chance to get independent reviews on all the latest gadgets without having to wait weeks for the next issue to come out. Unlike some sites, we don’t have a press publication to worry about so that means we can give you, the reader, the latest news as it happens, and the latest reviews before anyone else.
On the review side we aren’t interested in pointless number crunching or providing you 16-page reviews including how we took it out of the box, but easy to read, and more importantly, easy to understand copy. When we get a product in for review we ask three key questions:
1. Does it make my life better?
2. Does it work?
3. Has it got wow factor?
Roam around the site, become a member, start enjoying the consistently breaking news and reviews we write. If you’re not up for reading why don’t you just sit back and watch the videos we shoot. You can get involved by posting your own comments.
If you have any comments about the site, or the stories we write, we would love to hear from you via the feedback form.
We hope that you enjoy the site as much as we enjoy making it.

In summary, it looks as though @Pocketlint likes to follow Twitter accounts who are based in the UK, closely follow technology news and are more than likely involved in the field of tech PR. Oh, and they seem to be on good terms with many editors of technology news sites, which might just explain their recent mention in TechCrunch!
That’s a pretty impressive list, right? It is pretty specific though … Perhaps you’d like to recommend a Twitter account to profile during an upcoming #FollowFriday? If so, please comment below or tweet us up!
