The #FollowFriday Series highlights today’s up-and-coming, active and all-around noteworthy Twitter accounts the AudioAcrobat staff deems worthy of following; while at the same time peering deeper into the soul(-cial media) of each account and providing a brief-yet-informative analysis.
Welcome back for the thirty-sixth #FollowFriday tweet / WordPress mashup of 2012 here on the AudioAcrobat Weblog!
Do you watch movies? <ahem> Rhetorical question. Do you have an Amazon Prime membership? If so, another 3000 titiles have just been added from Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, and Lionsgate…by way of this week’s featured account!
In today’s post, we will dive deeper into the tweets of NYC based next-generation premium entertainment channel, video-on-demand and online service, EPIX (@EpixHD) and the Twitter accounts they have chosen to follow … a mirror, if you will, into the soul(-cial media) behind a company who is responsible for bringing popular titles like The Avengers, Iron Man 2 and The Hunger Games to our iPads via Amazon Prime!
Yep. That’s right, we just said it … “soulcial media”. We also said, “a company who is responsible for bringing popular titles like The Avengers, Iron Man 2 and The Hunger Games to our iPads via Amazon Prime” in the same sentence.

Amazon Instant Video is a loss leader for Amazon, so that investment will have a limit if it is eventually bleeding like a hemorrhage. The titles are GETTING better, but still not comparison to the library of having both streaming and discs by-mail. Now, I’m just thankful that my employer, Dish, bought Blockbuster because now Blockbuster @Home gives me both streaming and discs by-mail for less than both services from Netflix. The best selection and quality of movies with instant gratification are what I get from both streaming and mail, so I get to have my cake and eat it too.

Thank you Jimmy for this insight! Have you had a Netflix subscription in the past? How do you feel it compares to Blockbuster’s disc-by-mail + streaming solution(s)?
