Are you a loyal Mashable reader? If so, please consider our hats to be tipped in your direction. If not, we highly recommend clicking over to Mashable.com right away and seeing what’s happening on the web these days.
In today’s posting we will take our readers through five of the essentially infinite reasons we here at AudioAcrobat thoroughly enjoy reading Mashable. Whether scanning headlines in Google Reader or clicking on top-trending stories via the Alexa Toolbar for Firefox, we’ve been consistently impressed by Mashable’s quality of coverage and commitment to the same real-time publishing found in any of today’s major online news sources.
Scandal
There will always be scandalous persons in the world. The coverage of unfolding scandals is, has been and will likely be one of the hottest continuing trends on the web, regardless of how cliché we may feel after feeding the media monster known simply as ‘scandal’.
Looking for an example? How about Audi’s supposed Eminem rip-off…
Celebrities
When a celebrity does something, in fact when they do pretty much anything outside of their defined ‘role’, it is deemed newsworthy. Mashable does a fantastic job of picking up celebrity news in an original and enrolling manner by applying what we’re calling the ‘Mashable Filter’ and focusing on celebrities in conjunction with social media and web innovation.
Looking for an example? How about Shaquille O’Neal’s recent retirement announcement…
Infographics
Holy cow can you fit a lifetime’s worth of data mining, research and supposition into one bright, cheery and cleverly laid-out infographic! We’re not exactly sure if Mashable has these created in-house or if they have a third-party source that creates their stunning infographics, but we’re always finding ourselves working our way through one or more every week…
Looking for an example? How about the ‘Just How Dangerous Is Sitting All Day?‘ infographic…
Mashable Follow
Talk about making a custom-tailored experience for your readers… Mashable has always been one to give credit where credit’s due, and by enriching the user-experience on their site we feel that they’ve done a superb job in creating Mashable Follow. Select your areas of interest to stay updated on the content which matters most to you and share with one or more social networks in a single click!

Early Google +1 Integration
We were once given some horrible advice: Never be the first or the last to do something. We believe that early adopters have their place in this world, and it is more often than not at the front of the pack. Exemplifying this trait well, Mashable is one of the first websites to include the brand-new Google +1 button, allowing their readers to +1 Mashable articles, thus increasing web traffic … or so the Googlians would have us believe.
Looking for an example? How about giving this page on Mashable a +1…
As you can see, there are MANY reasons we love reading Mashable, many of which aren’t even listed above… Why not? Sometimes, our friends, its more fun to discover on your own.
