The #FollowFriday Series highlights today’s up-and-coming, active and all-around noteworthy Twitter accounts the AudioAcrobat staff deems worthy of following; while at the same time peering deeper into the soul(-cial media) of each account and providing a brief-yet-informative analysis.
After making hundreds of #FollowFriday recommendations on Twitter throughout the first eighteen weeks of 2011, our team is showing no sign of letting up when it comes to the union of AudioAcrobat’s weekly #FF tweets into this nifty WordPress.com weblog.
Last week’s feature focused on a web publication that offers technology news and analysis, as well as profiling of startup companies, products, and websites – TechCrunch – and was so well received by our readers that we’d be mad to not continue this weekly trend of blog-integrated, fun and factual tweets.
Now to connect with a music subscription service that lets subscribers play as much music as they want – on the web or on their phone – even when they’re offline!
In today’s posting, we will not only share this week’s featured #FollowFriday account, @Rdio, but will also take our readers in for a closer look at twenty five of the two hundred eighty five Twitter accounts @Rdio is currently following … a mirror, if you will, into the soul(-cial media) of a music service that takes the work out of deciding what to play next.
Yep. That’s right, we just said it … “soulcial media”. We also said “a music service that takes the work out of deciding what to play next” in the same sentence.

More about Rdio:
Rdio is a new social music service, founded by Janus Friis with Niklas Zennström. We’re making a music service that takes the work out of deciding what to play next — follow friends and people with great taste in music, get inspired by what they’re playing, and listen to their playlists. With Rdio’s mobile apps, music on your computer and mobile phone is finally connected without needing a cable. Collections and playlists are instantly updated and you can sync music and listen, even when you’re offline. The name, Rdio, is a combination of the words radio and audio, and we pronounce it ar-dee-o.
