Is it difficult? This is a question often asked by our members when proposed with the need to convert their bulky WAV file to the lean, mean MP3 codec.
In today’s posting we will show our readers just how easy converting WAV to MP3 can be using AudioAcrobat. Just for fun, we’ve also thrown in a couple other methods that have proven to work for ourselves and our members time and time again.
The AudioAcrobat Method
Quick Steps:
1. Login to your AudioAcrobat account
2. Click the blue “Audio” tab
3. Click “Create New Audio”
4. Click “Upload Audio Files”
Expanded Steps:
Login to your AudioAcrobat account
Click the blue “Audio” tab
Click “Create New Audio”
Click “Upload Audio Files”
It is at this point where our readers will want to browse to their WAV file and select their desired MP3 encoding option. For a detailed breakdown of encoding options, our readers might find this recent post to be extremely helpful.
Hint: Once the file begins to upload, please make sure to leave the upload tab/window open, as navigating away from this page will cancel the upload in process.
Upon completion of the upload to AudioAcrobat’s servers, our readers should be redirected to a page labeled as their “Media Jobs Queue“. This page will display any/all media files having entered the user’s account. Refresh the page to see the status move along from “Ready to Transcode” to “Transcoding“. Once the status says “Complete“, our readers will be able to locate their newly converted file in the “Audio” section of their account.
Note: AudioAcrobat accepts WAV, MP3 and WMA audio files up to 256MB in size. Files larger than 256MB in size will ‘hang’ during the upload process.
To download the newly-created MP3 file, our readers can do so by:
1. Logging in to their AudioAcrobat account
2. Clicking the blue “Audio” tab
3. Clicking the title of the Audio they wish to download
4. Clicking “Download Audio”
…and voila, a brand-spanking new MP3 file!
As promised, we have a couple other tricks up our sleeve when it comes to converting those bulky WAV files to the industry-standard MP3 … and here they are!
