Where can you showcase your business in front of more than five hundred million pairs of eyeballs? Where else does the world population collectively spend more than one hundred thirty three thousand DECADES (700 billion + minutes) per month? Facebook.
In today’s posting, we will take our readers through the process of creating a Facebook Fan Page for their business, brand, product, organization, artist, band or themselves as a public figure.
The first step is to decide what the page will represent. Let’s say our readers want to create a fan page for their business. As an example, we’ll be using a fictitious business name … “Daisy’s Flowers“.
Note: You must have a personal Facebook account in order to create a Fan Page. Don’t have one yet? Get started HERE.
Once logged in, our readers can get started by clicking HERE. At this point, they will want to select which type of page they wish to create. For “Daisy’s Flowers”, we have chosen “Local Business” from the drop-down menu as shown below:
Next up, our readers will need to enter the “Page name” for their business.
Note: This CAN NOT be modified at a later time, so be sure to enter this information carefully.
As seen below, we’ve entered the name of our page, checked the box to agree and will click “Create Official Page” when ready to move forward.
After the initial creation of our readers’ Facebook Fan Page, the time has come to fill it in with glorious images, information and content. Let’s take a quick look at completing these steps as outlined by the “Getting Started” tab:
1. Upload an Image
2. Import Contacts
3. Edit Page
4. Post Update
5. Add Like Box
6. Mobile Set-Up
Now that the basic set-up has been completed, make sure to click the “Like” button at the top of the page next to your business name, which will appear in the news feed for all of our readers’ Facebook friends and on their personal “Wall“.
Along the left column, our readers will want to make sure they’ve filled out all of the necessary information, such as a brief bio/description of their business, business location/address, phone number and business hours.
At this point, our readers should have already entered at least (1) status update and/or hyperlink to their site or another site that would interest their new “fans”. This information will appear on our readers’ new Facebook Fan Page “Wall“, as seen here:
Having just created a Facebook Fan Page for their business, we encourage our readers to give themselves a pat on the back for a job well done. Don’t forget to invite everyone and their mother to become fans by clicking the “Like” button along the top of the page.
