Are you an Author? Are you contemplating gathering your ideas and assembling a product or series of products to make available for sale? Even if you’re yet to be published, there shouldn’t be anything stopping you from creating high quality products and getting your foot in the door with an entire world of potential customers.
AudioAcrobat provides all of the necessary tools to create, broadcast and distribute your AudioBooks to your audience, and in today’s posting we aim to show our readers just how easy the process can be.
On The First Day…
There are two main ways that you can use AudioAcrobat to create the individual chapters of your AudioBook:
Record by Phone
Record by Computer Microphone
Generally speaking, you can get a higher quality sound out of a computer microphone compared to a telephone, but it is important to remember that this generalization will always depend most on the hardware contained within your setup as well as the method of connection. For example, hard wired phones, headsets and internet connections will always prevail over wireless ones.
Regardless of which method of recording you choose, you will be able to create separate recordings for each chapter of your AudioBook. These chapters can then be titled and placed in folders within the “Audio” section of your account.
Hint: It is important to introduce the chapter of your book at the beginning of each recording.
This not only will aid you in making sure that all recordings are titled and organized properly, but is also somewhat of a “standard” in AudioBook production. Some authors will use different voice talent for the chapter announcements. It is perfectly fine to record these separately, as they can easily be inserted into “Playlists” or mixed in using your favorite Audio Editing Software.
Sweet Spot in the Slipstream
After creating your individual recordings, you can easily assemble each chapter into a “Playlist“, which will then allow your audience to listen in at anytime over the web via their computer speakers. Creating a Playlist will allow you to have multiple tracks (the chapters of your book) play in sequential order through one player, much like tracks on a CD.
Hint: Playlists are also great ways to give your audience a teaser of the entire product available for purchase.
Say you have a 25 chapter book and you were to create a playlist containing only the first 3-5 chapters. By placing this playlist on a landing/sales page for the product, you would not only be giving your potential clients a real-time and realistic preview of the digital product for sale, but would also be planting a veritable seed in their head with tremendous potential to create a trusting relationship between author and reader.
We know how important it is for your audience to connect with you on a personal level, and that is why we’ve made the process of creating Playlists with AudioAcrobat short and simple, allowing you to focus on the message and atmosphere you will be providing to your readers and listeners.
As you’ll see below, it can be carried out in just a couple of quick steps:
Quick Steps:
1. Login to your AudioAcrobat account
2. Click the blue “Playlists” tab
3. Click “Create New Playlist”
Expanded Steps:
Login to your AudioAcrobat account
Click the blue “Playlists” tab
Click “Create New Playlist”
At this time, you should be on the page titled, “Create New Playlist“, and will see something like this:
Here you can easily select the audios you wish to place in your playlist; move, re-order, remove and save your changes. On the next screen, you’ll be able to title your playlist by clicking “Edit Description” from the tab selection.
On the “Edit Playlist Description” page, you’ll be able to enter a Title, Description (optional) and publication reminder (optional) before saving your changes.
Once satisfied with your Playlist descriptors and notes, the next step is to Publish your Playlist.
The first publishing option you’ll see is to “Publish for Website“. This will allow you to select one of 95+ players, further customize your selected player (color, button shape, dimensions, auto-play, loop + more) and generate HTML code for placement on your website, blog, HTML Newsletter etc.
The other option when Publishing a Playlist is to “Publish for Email“. This will allow you to generate both a Text-Only link (perfect for copying/pasting into an email message body) and HTML code for both a graphical button and textual prompt to listen. The later two options work well for HTML Newsletters and anywhere else HTML code is accepted.
Smooth Sale-ing
If you’re looking to sell your AudioBook recordings, AudioAcrobat performs the essential role of delivering the content to your customers once the purchase has been made.
The way our members have used AudioAcrobat to do so involves the integration of (2) other services. The first service, PayPal, allows you to receive funds from almost anyone in the world via the internet. The second service (optional) would be an auto-responder service, such as AWeber. This service can be configured to automatically deliver your AudioAcrobat download link to your customers immediatly after they’ve made their PayPal purchase.

No matter which route they choose, our members are continually doing all that is within their power to keep their businesses thriving despite a downed economy; and we want to make sure that our members know and understand that we’ll be here the whole way through, making sure that a constant stream of innovative and sustainable ideas are provided to those of whom which we are here to serve.
Which brings us to our closing mantra … What are you waiting for? Dust off that microphone, grab a nice hot glass of herbal tea (agave or honey is recommended for soothing) and start laying down the chapters! Remember … the world can’t start paying you for your efforts if you don’t have a product to send them home with!
