Today, May 16th, 2013 is a very special day in the world of music, as there are four musicians which will forever hold their own unique place in my heart sharing their special day with you and I and one another. In short, I am happy to be raising a glass to Janet, Robert, Barbara and Krist on this fine day:
Janet Jackson [1966]
90’s music is what I grew up on, well, during the 90’s. Janet definitely made her way into my ears via old boomboxes and Sony Walkmans and is always a great addition to that 90’s pop hit playlist.
Robert Fripp [1946]
I first learned of Robert Fripp by way of his collaboration with Brian Eno, but learned that he was also an integral part of King Crimson. Here’s a medium length documentary I found with Mr. Fripp which was filmed during the “Frippertronics” period of his career.

Barbara Lee (The Chiffons) [1947]
I love 60’s girl groups. There I said it. The Chiffons were huge in their day and this appears to be actual footage from the 60’s. Enjoy!

Krist Novoselic (Nirvana) [1965]
I was 8 years old when Nirvana’s Nevermind album broke in 1991 and I’ve been a fan ever since. I also LOVE record shopping, so this episode of Amoeba Music’s “What’s In My Bag?” with former bass player of Nirvana, Krist Novoselic is “dripping with cool”.
