It’s not often that we get to write about music here on the AudioAcrobat WordPress blog, but when we do, you can rest assured that it is a real treat both for our staff and for you, our readers.
In this special edition format of year-end posts, we’re proud to bring you our staff’s 5 Best Electronic Albums of 2012, all available for streaming, for free, in their entirety via the popular music consumption platform, Spotify.

Discover our 5 Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2012!
By which criteria are we ranking these favored releases? No special algorithms or chart analysis were used, really, we promise. They’re simply electronic(a)-styled albums which were released in and stood out the most, each as a whole, in our lives during the year of 2012. No less, no more.
What do you say we get on to the list?!
#5:
Leftfield – “Tourism”
90’s electronica masters disbanded for 10 years, got back together and toured the southern hemisphere. This is living proof.
#4:
Lords Of Acid – “Deep Chills”
So what if there are porn stars involved? (Alana Evans, we’re looking your direction) This album proves hands down that 12 years can pass and this explicit electronic/dance act still has what it takes!
#3:
Santigold – “Master of My Make-Believe”
Sophomore album from this über-talented and out-of-the-box singer/songwriter/producer suits dinner parties and dance floor grinding alike.
#2:
Gramatik – “#digitalfreedom”
Released for FREE on Pretty Lights Music, this 6 song EP spans more electronic genres than you can shake a stick at. Oh, and it’s SUPER FRESH!
#1: TIE
The Chemical Brothers – “Don’t Think”
Can electronic dance music (EDM) really get any better than this live show atop a rainy mountain in Japan? The Chem’s have outdone themselves once again, if that’s even possible.
Our apologies for this not being available as a full stream, but if you purchase the CD/DVD/Blu-Ray, we can pretty much guarantee satisfaction.
Cypress Hill, Rusko – “Cypress Hill x Rusko EP”
We had a lot of difficulty taking this unlikely pairing of 90’s Hip-Hop legends with 2xxx dubstep genius off of repeat this year. Crank it up and FEEL THE BASS!
